Goat Sales Policy and Pricing

Goat Kid Reservations

Kids for sale will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Deposits are taken on a first-come first-served basis, and NO GOATS WILL BE HELD WITHOUT A DEPOSIT IN HAND. This means telling me that you are interested in a particular goat is not enough for me to hold that goat for you. If you are interested in reserving a kid from a particular breeding, please notify us and you will be placed on the waiting list for that breeding. A $100 deposit is required on unborn kid reservations. This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. The reservation will be for a healthy kid (your choice of doe or buck) from the genetic package offered with the breeding. There is no guarantee of eye color or coat color or color pattern. So please be sure that the genetic package is what you want to reserve. After the kid is born, the first person on the list will be notified. If we do not hear from you in 48 hrs, we move on to the next person in line (your deposit is non-refundable).

The buyer will have 48 hours to send the remainder of a deposit equal to 50% of the sale price of the kid. The balance is due at or prior to pick- up/shipping. Thank you for your understanding. Please note all wethers are also on a first come first serve basis, absolutely NO holds are placed on wethers without a $100 deposit.

Goats offered for sale may be tested for any disease desired at the buyer's expense. A standard Veterinary Certificate of health is available through my vet. Several days notice is required to obtain the health certificate. Buyer is responsible for any other fees such as health certificate, any other testing desired, and shipping. If you have something particular you are wanting (show quality, heavy milker, blue eyes, polled, etc) let us know and we will notify you if one comes available.

Adults and weaned kids must be picked up within 2 weeks of sale unless other arrangements have been made. Animals not picked up on time will be charged a boarding fee of $2 a day. Little Deer Creek Farm reserves the right to retain any kid born on the farm.

Guarantees

Goats offered for sale are healthy and free of disqualifying defects at the time of the sale. For obvious reasons, the health of any goat cannot be guaranteed after it leaves Little Deer Creek Farm. Buyers, or their representative picking up the goat, are responsible for checking a goat for signs of illness or injury before they leave the property. Buyers are asked to verify tattoos prior to leaving. No registered goat will leave prior to being tattooed. When a goat is out of my sight, and therefore out of my control, I can't be responsible for its health or future development or fertility beyond the ADGA recommendations for the sale of breeding stock.

Since we cannot control any stress that may occur as a result of shipping or the animals environment and care once it leaves our farm, we cannot offer any further guarantees. In the case of infertility, a replacement will be given contingent upon a veterinary statement that the origin is genetic and the animal has received adequate care this is because infertility is most often caused by environmental factors such as mineral deficiency and/or obesity.

Shipping/Transport

Animals can be shipped by air at buyers request. The closest airport is Pittsburgh International, which is an hour from our farm we charge a $100 flat rate fee for travel to airport and addition the buyer must pay all associated shipping costs, such as cost of crate, health certificate, airline charges and all other associated fees. If you are interested in going this route, contact us for an estimate. We may at times know someone heading your way and your goat can get a ride, which may cost less than shipping and is much less stressful on the goat.

Price of Kids

Below are general price ranges of kids. Once kids are born, they will be evaluated and the price will be listed on the sales page.

Nigerian Dwarf Does base price $450, Nigerian Dwarf Bucks base price $300, and Wethers- $200 each.

If multiple goats are purchased at the same time, a $25 off per goat discount is given.
